CheckAlt's API Platform Enables Powerful End-to-End Banking Solutions

CheckAlt's API Platform Enables Powerful End-to-End Banking Solutions

In this time of payments convergence when electronic is surpassing paper, application programming interfaces (APIs) are important and powerful mechanisms that can facilitate unified connectivity across a host of digital banking tools. Some banks are embracing APIs and open banking—a concept referring to using open APIs that allow third parties to develop inter-connectivity between data sources—while others are stuck delivering solutions in isolation from each other. Truly transformational services, like those provided by CheckAlt, are delivered in coordination, allowing banks to break away from operational bottlenecks.

“When it comes to embracing application programming interfaces (APIs) and data integrations with FinTech firms, FIs [financial institutions] tend to focus on the individual products they can roll out to their small business or corporate customer bases,” according to an article by PYMNTS. However, that focus doesn’t address the deeper issues of connectivity that businesses demand of banking tools.

CheckAlt’s ongoing commitment to provide innovative and efficient integrated payments solutions to our financial institution clients has resulted in our team developing several API libraries in support of our clients’ needs. For example, CheckAlt’s credit card payment API library allows financial institutions to offer real-time credit card payments through their own customer web portals. CheckAlt has many API libraries that make up CheckAlt’s API Platform, including our API integrations with property management software for the real estate industry including Voyager by Yardi and Rent Manager, and with business accounting software QuickBooks, in order to provide streamlined payment processing and simplified reconciliation for companies large and small.

Our APIs provide a seamless experience for banks’ business customers. It’s been CheckAlt’s focus from the beginning to create technology that facilitates fast, secure electronic transactions. One of our earliest technologies is CheckAlt’s eCheck API, which allows banks to accept Check 21-based electronically created items over the web. CheckAlt is one of the original pioneers of Check 21 payments, using Check 21 technology with several of our products including our full item processing product suite supporting ATM, branch, and remote deposits.

In addition, CheckAlt’s two mobile APIs—one for consumer capture through front-end banking applications and one for businesses built for the mobile application of CheckAlt’s DepositGo merchant capture solution—enable users to capture checks from anywhere using their mobile device for deposit. Data associated with these deposits are gathered into a single, consolidated web portal for management and reporting—just as those made at ATMs and branch locations powered by CheckAlt’s software. Deposits captured using these mobile APIs or any of our item processing products are aggregated to a single web portal for simplified reconciliation and reporting.

As noted in the Pymnts.com article, the “…customer experience must not only include new products, but a focus on interconnectivity.” CheckAlt prioritizes delivering accelerated payments and automation in its partnerships with financial institutions across the country using APIs, in addition to fast implementations and excellent customer service.

CheckAlt is dedicated to creating efficient solutions that put more control in the hands of our bank clients. Contact us to learn how your financial institution can seamlessly integrate our APIs to transform your operations and better serve your customers.
