Bernard Karfunkel

Managing Partner, Sabr Group

Bernard Karfunkel is a Managing Partner at the Sabr Group, a New York-based family office with diverse investments in technology, real estate, and chemical distribution. 

In addition to serving on the Board of CheckAlt, a leading fintech company specializing in digital payment and integrated receivables solutions, Bernard serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Amtrust Realty, where he has led major real estate development projects including 203 Jay Street in Brooklyn, 115 East 55th Street in Manhattan, and East Orange, NJ. He also serves as Chairman of the Board at Upstate National Bank in Rochester, NY, where he helped guide the institution through regulatory challenges into a period of stability and healthy growth. 

Beyond his professional endeavors, Bernard is deeply committed to family and community. He serves on the boards of his children's schools and is actively involved in several charitable organizations.

Jeffrey Bray

Senior Managing Director, Harbor Light Advisory

Jeffrey (Jeff) Bray has over 30 years of business and technology experience across financial services, manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare. He is a global growth leader and business operator with extensive leadership experience in executing significant change across multiple and diverse businesses.

Jeff brings a strong balance of strategic thinking and tactical execution, supported by deep functional expertise and an analytical “toolkit” focused on improving customer experience. He is known for building high-performing teams that drive sustainable growth and reduce operating costs.

Today, Jeff serves as Senior Managing Director at Harbor Light Advisory, where he helps businesses navigate transformation and new business development through strategic partnerships and deep analytical insights. His team’s collaborative approach has been pivotal in driving innovation and meaningful progress across the organizations they support.  

He also works with a variety of early-stage companies and financial services firms as both an advisor and private investor, helping shape go-to-market plans, define capital strategies, and make key introductions to potential capital providers. He maintains a broad and diverse network and enjoys helping companies reach their full potential.

Troy Cullen

Executive Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer, ICBA Payments and TCM Bank

Troy Cullen is a seasoned fintech executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience in the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) industry. Throughout his career, he has built and led high-performing teams, driven transformational change, and delivered consistent growth in highly competitive markets. 

Troy currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer for ICBA Payments and TCM Bank, where he leads strategic growth and revenue initiatives supporting community banks across the U.S. Prior to this role, he led the marketing, relationship management, and ATM product management for Fiserv’s $2 billion Card Services division where he was a catalyst for innovation—championing new revenue opportunities and spearheading market expansion initiatives.  

Before joining Fiserv, Troy spent eight years as EVP and President of Elan Financial Services, a division of U.S. Bancorp and the third-largest EFT provider in the U.S. Under his leadership, Elan achieved industry-leading customer retention by fostering a customer-centric culture.   

Earlier in his career, Troy held senior leadership roles across sales and relationship management and served on the Board of Directors of the Electronic Funds Transfer Association (EFTA). Troy earned his MBA from Duke University and holds a Finance degree from the University of Massachusetts.

Bill Kreienberg

Former Chief Banking Officer, Five Star Bank

William (Bill) Kreienberg brings over 40 years of experience combining legal expertise with executive leadership. He began his career at Harter Secrest & Emery, specializing in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and governance. He later joined Five Star Bank, rising to General Counsel and Chief Banking Officer. There, he guided the institution through critical risk, credit, and governance matters. 

Later, at Grand Oaks Capital, the investment arm of Paychex founder Tom Golisano, Bill focused on venture capital and board representation, supporting the growth of emerging businesses. He currently advises privately held companies and serves as a director for Upstate National Bank and Culain Capital Management. 

Bill earned his undergraduate degree from Muskingum University and his J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law.

J. Patrick Law

President & Chief Operating Officer, CheckAlt

Patrick Law is the President & Chief Operating Officer at CheckAlt, where he leads the company’s day-to-day operations, technology strategy, and execution. Known for his “Mission First, People Always” philosophy, he brings a client-focused, team-centered approach to leadership.

Patrick has more than 28 years of leadership experience in banking and payments. He previously served as COO & SVP of Fiserv’s Banking Division, supporting over 7,000 financial institutions with core banking, card services, digital banking, and payment technologies. His career also includes leadership roles at Elan Financial Services, Genpass, and ACS.

Patrick has led strategic client relationships with institutions such as Citibank, Bank One, PNC Bank, Home Savings, RaceTrac Petroleum, and Publix.

Patrick has also served as Chairman of the Board for Defenders of Freedom, a national nonprofit supporting post-9/11 military veterans through job placement, traumatic brain injury (TBI) treatment, emergency financial aid, and life transition support. He continues to advise the organization’s CEO on fundraising and operations.

Patrick served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman. He holds an MBA from the University of Dallas, a BA in Sociology from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, and is a graduate of the University of Washington’s Graduate School of Banking.
